How We Work

This page is in two sections, information for Private Individuals is at the top and information for Organisations starts mid-way down the page.

Private Individuals

1. Consultation
We speak to you over the phone to establish exactly what you're hoping to achieve from coaching and what you're looking for in a coach. We will help you to work out which coaching programme is most suitable for you, taking into account your budget. We will also discuss with you whether coaching is the right approach for your situation - sometimes it isn't and we can recommend mentors, consultants and counsellors if you have specialist requirements.

2. Matching with up to 3 Coaches
Based on what you have told us, we then recommend up to 3 professional coaches who meet your requirements. You arrange to speak to them and make a decision on which coach you feel the best sense of rapport with. If at this stage you're still not sure, please call us to help you to make a decision.

3. Decision Time
Once you have decided which coach you would like to work with and which coaching programme you'll be taking part in, we arrange a time and date for your first session. Depending on your location and what you have discussed with your coach, this will either be a face-to-face session or will take place over the phone. It is usual practice for coaching programmes to be paid for in advance and we will discuss payment options with you.

4. Begin the Programme
From the first session onwards, you arrange session times directly with your coach. We will check in on you from time to time to check that everything is progressing in the way that you hoped, but if at any point you wish to discuss any aspect of the coaching sessions with us, please contact us.

5. Reviews
We will ask for your feedback at the mid-point and at the end of your coaching programme. This ensures that you are getting what you want from the programme and if for any reason things are not progressing as you hoped, we are able to put things right. We want coaching to work for you and rely on you to tell us if it isn't.

Organisations

1. Consultation
We meet with you at your premises to discuss your requirements. We will work with you to establish clear desired outcomes and develop the most appropriate solution for the individuals in your organisation. We take into account any existing Learning & Development programmes/initiatives and your budget.

2. Establish Internal Support
Many of our clients like to start with short workshops and group coaching exercises to establish interest from their staff and introduce them to the concept of coaching. This is particularly attractive to those at director or partnership level, who may otherwise be reluctant to allocate time to finding out about the options available for their personal development when there are other matters making demands on their time.

3. Formulate the Programme
From the outset, we work with you to develop a programme that will suit both the individual and the organisation. If there are individuals who would benefit from one-to-one coaching, we develop programmes to suit their needs and their diaries. If you are working towards introducing a more supportive, coaching culture within your organisation, you may also opt to train your senior staff to coach.

4. Begin the Programme
In most cases, this involves taking briefings from the individual's line manager and/or HR, followed by an agreement with the coachee on the goals that they will be working towards. It is very important that the desired outcomes are agreed and that they are measurable.

5. Reviews
For one-to-one coaching programmes, we schedule a review meeting at the half-way point to ensure that both the coachee's and the sponsor's objectives are being met. This is an opportunity to review the progress made so far and to take the necessary steps to give the client - the organisation - the best return on investment possible. Another review takes place at the end of the coaching programme.
